TrailRig is local-first: your data lives on your device, not our servers. Here's exactly what that means.
TrailRig is a local-first iOS application for bike component tracking and management. All data you enter — your profile, bikes, components, and photos — is stored exclusively on your device. We do not operate servers that store your personal data, do not create user accounts, and do not sell your data.
We collect only the data you explicitly enter:
Your GPS location is only accessed if you explicitly tap "Use My Location." Only the resolved city and country are saved — the raw coordinate is immediately discarded and never stored.
Your data is used solely to display your Garage and component history, pre-fill search queries when you look for parts, and show accurate event times in your local timezone. No data is sent to us or any third party except what you explicitly initiate.
When you search for a part, your search terms (brand, model, spec) are sent to our search backend to retrieve results — no personal information is included. TrailRig may display affiliate links and earn a small commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you. Each shop's own privacy policy applies to purchases you make there.
If you import ride distances from Apple Health, that data stays on your device and is never transmitted externally. TrailRig requests read-only access to cycling workout data only.
Data is stored on-device using Apple's SwiftData framework with the iOS Data Protection API — encrypted when your device is locked. TrailRig Pro users may optionally enable iCloud Sync, which stores data in your personal iCloud account under Apple's iCloud Privacy Policy. We operate no external databases of your personal data.
TrailRig Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple, tied to your Apple ID, and shareable via Family Sharing. We never see or store payment information.
This app does not track you across apps or websites, and contains no analytics SDKs, ad networks, or off-device crash reporting. No App Tracking Transparency prompt is shown because no cross-app tracking occurs.
You can access, correct, or delete all data at any time via Settings → Delete My Account & Data. Since all data is on your device, deleting the app removes everything. No request to us is required.
This app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Updates to this policy are published here and included in the next app update. Questions? See our Contact page or email feedback@trailrig.app.
